Gone with the wind!

>Ebony and Bethlehem Olive Wood Titanium Gold kit without the gold center band. I made another one with bloodwood instead of the ebony, and several other Olive Wood pens.

Small show in small town this past Saturday. Sold all the Olive pens, and a bunch of others. This was only my third show and the best so far.

Working with ebony

Fred in NC

>Working with ebony was the hardest part. It tends to crack at the end of the barrel where it is too thin. Pressing the end cap expands the brass tube, which in turn can crack the wood.

I made the ebony barrel thick for that reason. Also, reamed the very end of the tube with a size D drill bit for a good but not too tight fit.

Blackwood looks like ebony, seems to be a little more oily, and probably better in many ways.
