Very good!

>Leo, I looked at all your ornaments, and I like them very much. The birdhouse with rustic finish is very appealing. The angels have simple lines, which is good. Great work!

>Very nice Leo,
Something like that is on my list for next year as well. Also some of the inside out ornaments.
The pic that has the ball in the centre...is that an ordinary ornament inside your lovely turned frame? Very novell idea and quite striking.

>Thanks Fred, the bird house is made from a Magnolia branch, and the "finnish" is the natural bark with lichen growing on it, it was the reason I used the branch wood, the roof is staghorn sumac.
Have fun and take care

>Hi Tom, no the ornament with the band is totally made by me, turned brass, and alluminium, ice sickles, the ball I spun on my lathe from some copper flashing a neighbor stew out, and the ring is made from white mulberry.

The copper ball is made out of two pieces of copper sheet that I formed over a turned ( half ball )mold, it's called metal spinning, and they fit into the wooden ring.

>Thanks Leo! One more question. Did you use a male or female mold? Maybe both? I really love the looks of these and have some thin brass and copper sheetstock.
Thanks again,

>Hi Spence
I used a male form, but if you would like to do some metal spinning, get the "Turn a bowl with Ernie Conover " book, it has a section that shows you the kind of tools you need to buy or make and how and what to use, like you have to lubricate the metal and soften it, and force it to become smaller or longer depending what you are trying to do, to much for me to try to explain here in a response.
Have fun and take care

>Once again Leo my thanks! Will do the research now that you have given me a direction. Hopefully I'll post a pic one day of the results.
