>I am having problems with the tail stock on my V100 mini lathe. There is a snap ring that keeps popping out on the backend of the tailstock. What am I doing wrong or what can I do to fix this. I baught this lathe at Craft Supply but I don't think they service them? Any ideas appreciated.

Thanks

Paul

Good Luck

>Paul,

Snap rings have 2 sides to them. If you look at the outside edge carefully, one side is slightly rounded and the other side is sharp. It should be installed with the sharp edge facing out. That causes the snap ring to "bite" into the groove under tension while the other way, the rounded edge would allow it to roll out of the groove. I would replace it with a new one installed correctly. If not available locally, Craft Supply should be able to help you out.
