Dragonflies in relief

Molly Winton

>This piece is inspired by Andi Wolfe's burned relief pieces. I thought I'd give it a try with my dragonflies. I didn't burn as deeply as Andi, but may try that for another piece. This is 4 1/4" tall, and 3 3/4" diameter, finished with Danish oil. The bodies have a slight touch of color from Prismacolor markers.

>Molly,

Very Well Done!!!!

I like the form and the detail is superb, the burning really makes the dragonflies stand out.

>Way to go Molly! I like this a lot and it looks like you found a new niche with your dragonfly series. Please do me a favor, try a woodfinishing oil such as waterlox or Mylands wood finishing oil, or better yet tung oil. Your pieces deserve the best. Danish oil is nothing but glorified food oil.
