A Real Winner!

Barbara Gill, Remlik Virginia

>I have just finished watching Bill Grunbine's tape a second time through. The whole thing is just chocked full of great instruction. It is easy to watch and understand plus it is entertaining. In fact I believe it is the best turning video I have seen. Thanks so much Bill. I guess when I wear this copy out I will get another.

I am going to suggest to our turning club that a copy be put in the library.

>Wow. I haven't even fished to DVD yet, but it is truly a winner in my book. Even my wife is enjoying the "show". Today we will start at the Sharpening section.

Bill, I like your method that this is produced. I have other videos on turning which are very educational. Your's shows longer periods at each step which makes it easy to see what you are doing.

We really like your wit that is interspersed along the way.

Can't wait to finish so I can watch the video again. Hope your next one on hollowing will be jsut as information.

>I can't wait until mine arrives. I was hoping that it would be here before the weekend was over but it didn't make it. Now I just hope that I don't get a ticket on the way home this week in anticipation of it being in the mailbox!

>Bill,

I received my DVD yesterday and watched it right away. It is one of the best instructional videos out there. Great job, keep up the good work.

>Thanks everyone! I cannot tell you all how happy I am that people are finding this to be a valuable addition to their turning arsenal. There has been some loose talk of a second video, but nothing decisive yet. We'll see how this one goes. We have had an excellent start, and excellent reviews, but sustained sales will be the key.

>Bill,

We are in a limited market. Once all of our friends and most of the clubs have a copy, that's it. My experience with the pen crafting videos was that the sales were excellent for the first 2 months, but they hit a wall at about 300 copies. Since then there has been a steady sales of a couple copies a month.

Don't ignore the problem of the bootleg copies being made. It is a real problem with VHS tapes but one you should be able to avoid with DVD. I have been a member of clubs that made copies and thought nothing of it because they said they were doing it to preserve their original. I always thought that 10 copies was maybe pushing the preservation excuse too far.

>Hi Russ

I know what you mean about the limited market thing. I guess all we can do is get more people turning so they can buy our videos, right?!? There are very few VHS tapes being purchased compared to the DVD, and I have not even started into the club market yet. I would hope that people would not go about bootlegging it, but I am all too familiar with human nature. They have their reward.

>Can't wait to get mine! With all you veterans praising it, I sure hope there is some stuff to benefit a beginner in there...if not I can hopefully work my way up to it! :-)

>I second Barbara's opinion...this is the finest woodturning video I have seen to date! Bill's a natural teacher and really knows his stuff. I have already begun to put some of his techniques into practice with moderate success...practice will make perfect, I'm sure.

If you haven't ordered a copy of Bill's video, do it now...you will be most pleased, I'm sure.

Thanks Bill!

>Good Afgternoon Barbara,

I completely agree. Bill's VHS tape arrived and I was able to see it this passed weekend. I sure wish I had seen it before turning my Christmas bowls, as they certainly would have been better. Bill's tape is surely educational and entertaining. And the person who provides the grinding wheel power looks better than the TV Early Morning Exercise girl in form fitting tights, who normally bowls me over. Great job.
