How about an ornament gallery?

>I've turned a couple myself as have many of you. Send me photos via e-mail and I will put a little thumbnail gallery together that we can all enjoy. Might bring out some new ideas, too.

We could even sell them if someone can figure out a good way to do that. What say?

>Sounds like a neat idea. Selling them could be a little tougher. Payment could be thru PayPal but then you'd need to set up a dynamic page linked to a DB to keep track of orders and inventory updates. I do it for customers using ColdFusion but I'm sure it can be done with PHP too.

I can probably find the photos I had of the 50 I made last fall for the classes and demos I did. I just turned 11 ornament balls of different types today. I'll start on the finials tomorrow. If all goes well I could have photos of these by the end of the week.

>Funny you should ask Ellis. I just made a couple of my style of snowmen and was going to post them here tonight so here they are. Nothing special but fun. Made from some cherry limbs that broke in a storm with birch twig arms and nose. Eyes, mouth, and buttons are just a Sharpie pen. About 4" high. The eye screw is not glued in so they can just stand around too.

Not sure about selling through this site but who knows til we try. Sounds like you have some very knowledgable folks willing to help.

>Here's a couple more. The only trouble with the matural colored ones is they tend to blend into the color of the tree.

>I made these 2 weeks ago. The "threaded" portion is a 3/8" dowel.

These bulbs are a modified version of the ones by Judy Chesnut. Her article can be found in the American Woodturner Fall 2004 issue (page 39).
