Covered bowl *LINK*

Don Henthorn Smithville, Texas

>This walnut bowl with lid is 3 1/2" in diameter and three inches tall. Some natural imperfections in the wood but at least no cracks. Finished with wiping poly. Has not been rubbed out yet. Have patience with my photography. I am getting better but sometimes I slip up, like this time.(-:

Thanks for taking the time to post your pictures. I enjoy seeing people's work. Nice looking lidded bowl.

>Don, It's lovely! I love the shape and the knob on the lid is perfect. I'm so glad to see you having a good time at the lathe. There's nothing better is there!

>Jen, you are right. I have to confess that I have experienced post auction traumatic syndrome since my tools all left. I often wish they were still in the shop particularly since it was a bust as an auction and a lot of good stuff went for nothing. However, the little Jet lathe I bought and converted to variable speed is a life saver. I also have a half dozen boxes of small rounds that I cut from scrap over the years which provide me with dry turning stock. I have a few larger rounds that will also fit the Jet, but haven't been brave enough to risk one yet since it has been a long time since I did any serious turning. Thanks for good words.

How about a visit from a Hoosier?

Al Crandall

>Hi Don. I'm sitting in Austin right now with my mini in the truck bed tool box. I will be giong to Flatonia Saturday afternoon and coming back to Austin Sunday evening. I'd really like to meet you and talk turning if you are up for it. I brought along my shop made laser guided captured hollowing system which has received good comments from those who have seen it. Jennifer S, Dave Smith, are among them. Since you are having so much fun, you might as well get exposed too. If you are free Sunday morning, respond to this and I'll give you a call. Al

>Al, I have nothing going on Sunday and would welcome a visit. Just be prepared for an empty house and sitting on straight chairs.(-:
