>I tried drying some Silver Maple recently and ran it for 3 minute shots on "Reheat" and let it cool on the counter for about 30 minutes between shots. Didn't use any plastic bags or paper towel. Turned out fine.

>At one of the national sym[posiums I learned a trick from a demonstrator whose name shall remain anonymous because I forgot it. I have a low powered small microwave that is dedicated to drying by covering up most of the inside vents to prevent the rapid loss of moisture. This peoceedure mimics the climate control of an industrial dry kiln and slows the moisture loss from the outside surfaces. So far, I have gotten 85% good results with judicious use of the "warming" settings with intermitant cooling periods.
