Latest Turning

Gary Ljostad

>This is piece that I just compleated. It is a Spalted maple hollow form with a removable ebony finial. 8.5"x5", about 3/32" thick, and finished with lacquer. Because of the amount of spalting I found it necessary to use CA glue to stableize a few arias. The idea was to copy a drop of dew about ready to fall from a branch.

This is very pretty. I love out of the ordinary and this fits the bill. Nice form. Beautiful wood and I love your finial. Kind of a modern looking one.

Bravo!

I love it. I think that's what they mean when they say just look around you. There's beauty everywhere.

I have been trying to think of the right word.

Dave Smith, Longview, WA

>Hi Gary,

Outstanding! I know it is an over used expression but in this case it does not seem to say enough about this wonderful turning. I like simple lines and the vessel is perfect in my opinion. It puts the figure of the wood on display.

Thank you for sharing.
