Spraying Turnings

>Hey all, for those who spray their turnings with a HVLP sprayer. Do you spray on the lacqure and then use a seal coat over that? Is the seal coat needed for any reason? Thanks, Sean

>I'm just winging it so take this with a grain of salt. The only time I use a seal coat is over a tint or color coat, or to create a barrier coat between different material finish layers.

>Hi Y'all,

Sean, try spraying the seal coat on first, then sanding it all off. You will find that the following lacquer coats will penetrate more evenly across the end grain and side grain. This method also works well for getting a more even stain. No sealer is required on top of lacquer.

Regards Sam Simpson.
