WC goes head to head with Monday Night Football

TDaniel

>This is the week that we agreed to swap nights so James Krenov could be our guest woodworker this Wednesday night. We'll go back to Wednesday nights next week. Tonight's topic will be "Alcohol soaking for drying wood". I know absolutely nothing about this process so I trust we will have folks aboard to tell us about it. Join us at 9pm eastern for greetings and bs and we'll start the topic at 9:30.

Can We Stay On Topic?

Stuart Johnson

>Will we be able to stay on topic with this new drying process? Ellis is also running a test tonight so it might be rather difficult and we could loose some very good input.

>Stuart

I was going to start the process by taking some alchohol as a consumption item. That will of course make it harder to stay on topic.

>Staying on topic can be difficult with this group. One thing that I would suggest is NEVER use the word "chainsaw". Once that happens, the whole thing deteriorates into a flurry of in jokes and brand name insults. I don't understand it, but it always seems to happen.

>Ellis' test starts at 8:30 and runs for about 15 minutes. They should all be gone by the time the martinis are poured for our session at 9:00. When they find out how obnoxious we turners are, they won't hang around long thereafter.

On the other hand....

Don't worry, when Terry and the rest of the turners take over at 9:00, we can make an announcement that the topic is now Dave's technique and that the rest of the jib-jab is officially over.

No problem, Mon. Hope to see all y'all there. In fact, come early and be part of the server test.

>What I was using to determine this was that we have a computer complex in our shop that uses GMT and the timestamp is currently set at -5. This means that we have to subtract 5 hours to arrive at the current time.

When we were on DST, the timestamp was set to -6.

>Certainly no appology necessary.

You had me confused for a second, because I am the Server Support manager for our corporation, and our server are set to EST -5 GMT. I just seemed to remember when I was in Germany, which is GMT +1 and the east coast was 6 hours diff.
