>I have at least tried all of the segmented software out there. The only one that I would recommend for someone that is not mostly a segmented turner is WoodturnerPro. The learning curve is very low. If you want to expand what you are doing, you can get Laminations Pro and 3D PRO. To top it off, the maker of WoodturnerPro is a WC member, Lloyd Johnson.
Go ahead and down load and try the evaluation copies. I am sure that you will like it.
The only other one that I occasionally use is Woodturner's studio. It is more expensive, with a higher learning curve, but it is a little better at two things (in my opinion). 1) You can color individual segments in the drawing. This is valuable if I am trying to see what a new design would look like. 2) For open segments, it provides segment seperations in degrees, rather than a set distance. WTP does not do this. This is a more pleasing look if you are an entire open segment bowl. Lloyd tells me that this is an upcoming enhancment to WTP.

>Mark, Thanks so much for the info. That's exactly what I was hoping to find here. I tried WTPro a long time ago and honestly can't remember much about it. Unfortunatey once you try it you can't do a trial again so I'll just buy it. Thanks again Mark. Alan in Md.
