Cast iron legs for Nova lathe

Todd M

>Hi,

Is anyone using the cast iron legs on their Nova lathe? I was hoping to hear some feedback about the quality and performance of the legs, specifically regarding how they mount to the lathe bed and whether you feel there are enough bolt locations, etc. to support the unit for the long haul.

Thanks in advance.

Todd.

>I have a set for a few months now, and I'd say they're sturdy enough on their own. I built a box-framed shelf to add additional weight, but I haven't really needed it yet.

The design could be improved with a beefier chip deflector, but other than that, I'm happy that I did it. Total weight in steel is just under 400 #.

Hey Steve!

>Steve,

Drop me a line. I tried to email you but it got bounced back. I heard about your recent difficulties with the Vega lathe and wanted to help you out a bit.

There is a Bucks Woodturner member who is selling their Vega bowl lathe. I just wanted to give you a heads up.

BTW, did I need to drop the "wood" from the AOL address?

See ya around,

Dominic

Hey

>Wasn't a Vega, Dom...

It was a VB 36 BowlMaster. Ouch.

As for the domain, I was AOL in their first million, which is why I'm not santonucci1233242343@ aol.com...
