Tonight's Topic, per request

>I just did an all day demo today at a county school; 4 (1.5 hour) demos to be exact. I was amazed at the amount of interest the kids had and when it came their turn to give it a try they all did well. So, the question for tonight is "Are we doing enough to promote woodturning?" I think back to my first exposure to woodturning; a neighbor who took a few minutes of his time to show me the basics and from that moment I was hooked. With shop classes being shut down in so many schools, how do we promote turning and what are our liabilities? Join us tonight and we'll try to get this ball rolling.

>You are correct to be worried about our liabilities when it comes to teaching our kids about woodturning, or art. We might ignite a spark of interest in something that doesn't have a computer attached or a TV screen. The only liability we should have is not to stifle or suppress a kids creativity. But that ain't reality.
