home appliance usage

John Lucas

>I was laughing at someones use of the washer to clean their buffing wheels. I don't remember now who said that but I got to wondering how many other people use home appliances for woodworking.

I use the microwave like many of you all. I don't use my dryer but I do vacuum out the lint trap with my dust collector. I use a hand held iron to put veneer on small projects. I used to use a rubber spatula to spread glue but it finally died.

>turned 2 old chest freezers into something useful. One is a LDD soak tub and the other is a kiln. The racks from the freezers became drying shelves for finished bowls.

I also use old baby bottles to accurately measure liquids to mix things like finishes.
