>This piece is made from mesquite, yellow heart and mahogany. It is 6 in. dia. and 10 in. tall. Wife got some cut flowers in a vase with these dimensions and I liked the form. Please excuse the photography.

BUT....I may have the answer to your post below about glue creep. On your stave sections, each stave is separated by a lighter strip of wood which appears to run in a different grain direction than the staves. You may experience what appears to be glue creep on this piece, but if this occurs, it will probably be caused by grain running in different directions, causing contraction and expantion in different directions. This wouldn't be glue creep, just wood movement.
The solution....the thin strips should be the same grain orientation as the staves. Hope this helps.
