Tiny turnings

The picture quality is pretty poor, but they are fun to do.
Two are Big leaf Maple Burl, and one is Cherry.
The largest is about 4" diameter.

Nice looking tiny turnings you have there. I can't make it to the chats, but I like to see what went on during the course of the interchange. I like doing these myself from time to time. It is a great way to use up little pieces of wood. It is also a good way to show that not everything has to be 24" in diameter as well! Since Mike is posting some tiny turnings as well, I will add one I did recently.
This is not the best picture I have ever taken, but I was in a hurry to get this one out the door. It is a piece of cherry burl, about 4" in diameter, and about 1 3/4" high or so. Finished with Watco Danish oil and NOT buffed.

>Those are some pretty small turnings Mike! I remember turning a tiny goblet from cocobolo a number of years ago. It was about 1/2" high or so, and proportionally sized in diameter. My two oldest daughters, who were very young at the time, promptly started begging me to go into the shop and turn a whole set of similar sized pieces for their Barbie collection! The sentiment was nice, but I knew how long it would take versus how long the things would last, so I distracted them as quickly as possible on this one.

I have been turning for only about 6 months.So I have a long way to go to get where all of you are as far as skill and design.The goblet is cherry.

Those are excellent pieces. It also helps me figure out what to do with the olive wood here that's too small for a natural edge bowl.
