blank orientation question
Pat Riley
>I have a decent lathe and tools, but have mostly turned spindle work to go along with furniture and tool making. This winter I plan to experiment some with bowls etc.
I have a large number of logs, crotches and even a few burls I have collected in walnut, cherry, apple, pear and apricot.
Does anyone know of a good book/article defining how to orient/slice up blanks to get the best turnings out of your raw stock?
Im pretty new at this aspect of turning, and would appreciate any and all help.
Thanks
