Mini lathe table

>Hello. I was wanting to build a table for a jet mini and wanted your opinions on my plan. I was thinking about a heavy duty shelf mounted to the garage wall and using a large triangular mounting system so that I didn't have legs on the ground. The legs would be wood or the metal kind designed for heavy duty shelves. We need to keep the vehicles in the garage and this would help by giving a little more space under the lathe for stuff. Would this system work well? What about vibration?

>Should work fine. Since it's a mini you won't be turning seriously out of round pieces. The Jet minis fun pretty smooth. You'll want to leave a fairly wide open area in the back for the shavings to fall through. It's easier to sweep them up from the floor than it is to use a vac behind the lathe

I have my Jet 1014 set on the top of a Sears roll around mechanics chest. I put a piece of 1/2" plywood on the top, no hang over, and set the lathe on that.

It works great and is easy to clean around. You just keep your tools and all parts in the drawers and move it to where ever you want to work.

I have made most of my tools mobil and it sure is easier and saves space.
