You'll get a full vector drawing program that's as good or better than Adobe illustrator; PhotoPaint--nearly as powerful as Photoshop (at least the previous iterations...I haven't seen CS) and more powerful than PaintShop Pro 7, as well as a rastor to vector conversion module, a scanning proggie and a pretty powerful 3D program. All for about $100.00 if you go for version 9 (current version is 12).
Corel seems to be pretty conservative, so they don do a complete overhaul every version (what software company does?). I've seen and fooled with version 11, extensively, and can only say that I haven't felt any compelling need to upgrade from 9. If you are a graphic pro, making you living with graphics, verison 9 might be a tiny bit behind the curve but if you are a woodturner first...you'll probably never exhaust the possiblities of CorelDraw ( in your lifetime.
Not affilated...just real happy with it.
