>well, the fact that Northern California is burning up has forced me into submission. It's offiicial: i can't breathe & put my gouge down! The air is so dense with smoke that the sunlight is even blocked. i've been contemplating putting on my air-helmet to get to the grocery store. hum, wonder if this would become a 'fashion statement'?
anyone else struggling for air?

>Is this something very local? I have been checking our local paper (Dallas Morning News) since you talked about the smoke from the fires and have not seen anything.
A few years ago they had some very large fires down in Mexico that caused some almost dangerous conditions up here. I can just imagin what it is like when the fires are closer.

we had three very large forest fires that were so bad that the skies from Sierras to the Bay area were blacked out dropping temperatures and making it difficult to breathe.
Highway 50 through the Sierras is still closed, and now mudslides are the latest disaster.
Today, we are getting hit was a reportedly 'powerful' storm from Alaska...hopefully, their predictitions are off. but already this morning my house is getting hit hard by the winds ...
