I would sugest using an innerface pad between the diskholder and the disk. By doing this if you lose the disk you only damage the innerface pad and can replace it cheaper than the holder. $ 6.00 sure beats $ 20.00. I also prefer the wave edge disks to the round.

For what it's worth, I do not charge any shipping charges.I will sell you as little as $2.50 and send it to you, even take your credit card for it. You will ULTRA rarely get a backorder from me (only one this year and I will backorder anything with no additional shipping charges).

No one offers the same premium sanding products as we do. I have my own dies and presses. And my poor wife hand stamps each piece of sandpaper (yes manually) with the grit number on the back.

This is not in defense of my product nor should it be interpretted as offensive to any others but I hear time and time again about "someplace cheaper on some product". Personally I buy now on price AND service.

Price isn't everything. Service and quality should be.

(Actually I started this (percieved rant) to correct the spelling of my last name (no H);)

If you would like a sample of the product, send your name and address to me (via email) and let me know if you use 2" or 3". We will be glad to send you out a sample pack or one each of the grits from 80 to 1200.

Be nice, support your local businesses. I don't consider any of the folks mentioned as competitors, we all provide a quality product at reasonable prices and I have purchased from all of them. (I think).

Service costs money and that comes from profit. I have had so many problems with merchandise from the big box stores that I am starting to look for light fixtures etc at salvage yards because the 30 year old US made items are better than the new stuff coming in from Mexico and China. I am now recovering from a nasty cut on a finger caused by a glass bowl (made in Mexico) that shattered while I was lifting it. The glass on one side was almost an eighth of inch thick and on the other side it was the thickness of a light bulb; 2 lbs of water in it was too much for it. These companies make higher profit by not having an inspector or quality control department. I am glad to see your personal involvement with your products.

The reason for this is I am so far from town that it is very inconvenient for me to ship small quanities; I have to hold orders for a few days so I can ship several at the same time to justify the time and expense of getting the parcels to the Post Office. I also stopped shipping wood because of my concern about spreading beetles and such to parts of the country that are not blessed with them. But, if anyone is in the area and needs CA or sanding supplies (or a VB) I carry these on the shelves.

I agree with you regarding customer service. I will always pay a bit extra to get premium service and I try to provide it to my customers. It just serves for fewer headaches for both parties involved in a transaction. We all know that life in the modern world provides plenty of headaches, so there is no point in bringing them on ourselves.

I have also just about quit shipping wood, but in my case, it's because of the issue you mentioned regarding shipping hassles. I also am fairly remote from civilization (about 30 miles), so it would take a large order, or several smaller ones to give me the financial incentive to go to Fed-Ex.

I would be interested in hearing some expert commentary regarding the dangers of shipping beetles with wood. My gut says that shipping within the continental US would be no problem, but I'm no expert.
