Just a thought about the turning form

>Hello everyone,

I have been as busy as I can be lately. We are trying to start a new woodturning club in my area, and I have been working hard on that. I also have a nice gallery show that will begin at the end of the month. So I am going crazy trying to get everything ready for that.

But my main thought is how much this forum has grown over the past few months. I remember back in the old days, if there were 10 messages posted in one day.. it was a good day :) My... how things have changed. It seems that lately, we have almost as many messages posted here as on the flat side.

I would like to thank all of you who have been posting the wonderful pictures here recently. I will not name names.. for fear of forgeting someone. But the quality of work posted here is really quite amazing!!

I usually check out the forum late at night, and don't always post a response, but I would like to thank everyone for taking the time to show us all of the great work.

It is still my favorite place to go.

I'd also note that Fred Holder has twice reported quite favorably about the WC forum in his own periodical More Woodturning. And finally, I'd note that the turning forum has been picking up more advertisers, the latest I believe being Teknatool. All this great increase in attention and content, and yet this and the WOW site remain the most respectful and pleasant forums I've had experience with.

I have been visiting Wood Central since the beginning and before that,the American Woodworker site. It just keeps getting better. Thank you Ellis and everyone else who is involved.

I stumbled into this list when I was looking for an instructor to get me started in turning. Even though I still do a good bit of flat work, I'm rarely on any flat side forum. (I'm almost finished with a computer desk/wall unit)

I've seen a few one this list that only a year ago that where turning chunks of wood. Now, because of amount of helpfulness and information on this forum, these same people are tuning pieces of art. This is one great place to be.

Y'all should give yourselves a pat on the back!

Barbara Gill is the only person who I know personaly that is here but I feel like I know everyone. Some day maybe I can get some meeting so we can meet face to face.
