Thanks so much for putting this together. What kind of sanding doo-dad is that you're using on the Dremel? Is it a home made thingy?

I'm guessing you mean the flat sanding disk and not the drum sanders. It's a mandrel that has a flat black plastic top to it. Fits the dremel perfectly. I just take some closed-cell foam (that one is just an old soda can cooler that I cut up) and glue it to it. Then I take a thin piece of leather and glue to the top of that. Then I stick the sandpaper to the leather. I used to stick the sandpaper to the foam but the foam doesn't last long when taking the paper off of it.

It's just a tiny, homemade power-sanding pad like the larger versions. Not sure where you can find the mandrel though. I get these made for me. Probably a Dremel dealer would have something similar?

The project isn't all that hard to do, I found out. Takes a little time with the complicated handle but then I'm no carver. Larger versions would work better as you actually have room to work and can use big-kid tools.
