But I think I can give you some general pointers that are often helpful with other lacquer products.
The problems you describe seem to point to building the finish too fast and too wet. Or, getting the surface too hot and melting the finish back to plasticity.
Try thinning the lacquer down considerably and applying it with the applicator much drier. Keep things moving away from the wet surface and revisit it gently. There is a sweet spot between not applying enough product to get a good build up and applying so much that you can't lay it out. Laying just a few molecules at a time will actually get you there faster than fighting a wet finish.
