>How much it looks like the item referenced below on eBay. It is actually 21" x 10.25", but I would not be surprised if it is the discontinued HF/CM lathe under another label. If that is the case, you might email the seller about parts availability. I have one of these, BTW. Got it brand new for about $80 delivered. Worth every nickel and a few more (but not that many). I want to upgrade, but it does serve me well. If that is the same lathe, I can make a copy of the manual (pretty short).

4 speeds, box section steel 'bed', comes with face plate and also got a chuck with it too. Mine had what appears to be a speed change mechanism on the left side but I assume I can just remove the cover and move the belt from pulley pair to pulley pair by hand in order to change the speed.

Not sure the belt isn't narrower than the link belt you pointed to unless you know different.

Thanks will try the Rand tack too.

A copy of the manual would be great!

It is obviously printed to be for whatever "brand" slaps a label on the lathe and sells it. That seller on eBay has been selling them for some time. Since I bought mine from him, I would be happy to inquire about a specific part as a customer of his. But we should hold off on that until you get the manual to verify that it really matches.

I think the belt is pretty much "regular" sized, but I will double check. If I ever break it, I plan to get another at the auto parts store. That's where I got one for my antique table saw.

>Odd. I replied to your email to let you know that the manual provided with the "Rand" lathe is actually the HF manual for your model when I looked close. Some of the pictures don't quite match mine, including the pulley assembly. My guess is that the "Rands" were cobbled together from leftover parts when HF discontinued the model.

I think i'm going to be looking at replacing the two pulleys for ones which will take a 3/8" belt and putting a flex link belt on. I think i've found a place in PA who has pulleys... i'll give them a try anyway. Again, thanks for the leg up, much appreciated. I hope to be turning soon!
