Canary Wood Segmented Bowl - Glossy Pic

>Here is a new 10" segmented bowl of Canarywood, Bloodwood and Yellowheart. Lacquer finish.
This is a design copy of the one that I donated to the AAW Educational Fund Auction, though in the end, the shape was a little different. This one used the 5/16" thick layers instead of the 1/2" thick layers in the AAW one.
This picture was taken after full sanding and polishing.

Funny to think that this little Big Leaf Maple bowl got me involved in all "this" turning stuff. :>)

I like the first photo better. The bowl is highly polished and the reflections show it. This photo does not have the same impact.
What caused you to pick 5/16 as opposed to 1/4 or 3/8?

When you say it 10"...is that tall or diameter? ...also....just an observation....I clicked on your bio and was chuckling at the fact that all over your bio you talk about your shop and your flat work tools and then waayyyyy at the end you talk about making an occasional turned pen. I found that humorous after seeing what you've been turning out. You really need to update your bio :)
