>I have the smaller of the two Kelton hollowing rigs. The openings for the tools are 5/8" and 1/2". The other day I bought a set of micro hollowers by mistake thinking they had the 1/2" shafts. They have a diameter of 5/16". I have visited the Kelton site and saw no provisions for using the micros in the hollowing rigs. Has anyone ever put a sheath over the micro shafts so they can be used in the hollowing rig? In my case I would need three sheaths with an interior diameter of 5/16" and an exterior diameter of 5/8"

>Have heard of using a sleeve on the keltons, but not in their rig. If the sleeve has a space so the set screw holds against the tool rather than the sleeve, just one sleeve is needed and you just make it a little long and drill the hole so that the end sticks out of rig so you can grasp it or leave the set screw screwed into the sleeve to hold it while you change tools.

>Right before I posted this question here and on WOW I sent an e-mail to Kel McNaughton who responded very quickly. He said I was the first to ask the question. His suggestion was to use a "packer". I wrote back and found out a packer was a piece of metal or wood slipped into the space between the tool and the set screw. I am going to find a piece of metal that would fill the space and try it.
