Beautiful. Now you just need to put one of those names on it that has nothing to do with the piece. Something like "Icarus was blind but had an attitude". Most people would go "what" but the art critics would write 2 pages of how deep that is.

I wanted to impart a warm glow to the piece, and I just have a personal preference for the glow given by a good old fashioned resin based finish. It is just my opinion, but lacquer finishes tend to look more formal to me. I rubbed this one out first to a high sheen, but it didnt' look quite right, so I went over it with nearly dry steel wool and then it was just right after I applied a thin coat of wax and buffed it off.

I can relate to your message.

In a past life I was an "arty" black and white photographer. I tried to enter a picture in a compitition. It was technically perfect and the title described what was in the picture. It was not even accepted.

Two months later I entered another version of the same picture in a different competition. It was slightly out of focus and the exposure was purposely off a tad.

The title had nothing whatsoever to do with the photo.

It won first place and during the show, there were never less than 8 or 10 people standing there commenting to each other about it. Go Figure!
