Sharpening question

>Has anyone here tried using a Veritas MKII to sharpen their turning tools instead of a grinder?
The MkII I have (chisels and such). The grinder I'd like to avoid buying, if reasonable to do so.

JL work
>I don't know -- I would think that it might be a problem to put a fingernail grind on a spindle gouge or a bowl grind on a bowl gouge. The flat platter would be good for skews and scrapers. You could even do roughing gouges. If you feel confident enough to do a fingernail grind, go for it. Alternatively, you could probably make a vertical jig.
