>This was from a blank of Bethlehem Olivewood that I cut from a 1.5"
spindle I had.. the grain faded too much at the ends and I decided to
get around that by adding bloodwood accents to kind of stretch the
blank... SWMBO loves it.... and we all know "SHE" is always right, LOL

>That's a nice combination. The olive wood here in Israel is fickled. It's a Jewish religious prohibition to cut down olive trees so I settle with trimmings. In most cases it's either boring or beautifully grained but with cracks.

>I use thick CA to glue the different woods together and also to do my ebony and corian pens... but let me warn you.. it is advisable to wear a pair of nitrile gloves when doing the gluing so you don't glue yourself to the blanks.. LOL..
The big thing is to make sure that the glue joint is as perfect as you can get it... I cut both pieces of wood at the same time with my mitre saw.. that way I know the cut is exact... do not try to use a bandsaw, especially if you are cutting a narrow band for the bottom of the pen..
