Cherry Logs (GA,TN,SC,NC, VA, PA)

>I'm looking for a regular source of green Cherry Logs (trees) cut at 16-20" in diameter. Can anyone give me an idea where to find such a source and the going rate of whole log (not cut, dried, or anything). I'm in GA but would be willing to travel as far away as the states listed in the subject line. I'd appreciate any help identifying a regular, dependable, reasonably priced source. I'm also interested in Walnut, Ash, Pear, Maple. Thanks, Fred

>Try calling Winell Lee Lumber co in Cookeville. 931-858-3020. I've only bought dry lumber from them but they frequently furnish whole logs for the Craft Center workshops and may be able to help you.

>I sorry that I don't have the precise info in front of me but there is an excellent source of wood in the Atlanta area in Mark Salay(sp?). If you call Phil or Mike at Highland Hardware, they can give you his number. He has supplied me with some amazing pieces of cherry and other woods. He has a tree service, but is a turner and works hard to provide excellent blanks. Good luck.

>Totally slighted! Went up the whole mid-atlantic seaboard and skipped right over Maryland. You don't deserve our cherry anyway..hmmff!
