I seem's to do an excellent job. It sort of smelled like crayons going on.

Could someone tell me if WD forty will affect the protection?

I like to use if to make my toolrest slide better. Thanks Joaz

>I am not a chemist but was into maintenance for years. We were told that WD-40 was the result of NASA wanting a product to keep metal machined to a close tollerance from rusting. The WD means water displacement. 40 was the 40th formula that worked. We soon found out it is not a lube or a lot of other things the product is used for now. If put to a real test it will fail.

Just my two cents worth.
