"squaring" Pen blanks
Phil Winn
>When I purchase Pen blanks, the blanks are not straight square rectangles-they dont lie flat.have a bend to them.
I use stabilized blanks from AS and CS. So when I cut the blanks to fit the specific two tubes, and then drill them-the hole will be centered going in-but often will come out the
bottom very close to one sidethen I use the trimmer to try and square the hole. If the blank had a bend to it and the hole was not centered on both ends, then I do not always have enough wood for larger diameter pens.
Questions: (I am a novice wood turner)
1. What am I doing wrong, suggestions?
2. What tool to use?
3. Is there a tool with a disc sander and belt sander in one?
4. Any suggestions for a tool which is very affordable?
Thanks,
Phil
