Just had some fun turning some Patriot pens, I bought these kits from Craft Supplies. These kits are platinum, satin nickel and black finishes
The woods from left to right are amboyna burl, amboyna burl with curly maple bands, marble wood, spanish olive, buck eye burl, bocote and king wood.

I enjoy this style and I have not tried to sell them yet. I am building up a small inventory for an annual Christmas craft sale at work and these will be new for me this year.
In past years I have carried mostly cigar pens (best seller for me,) Mt Blanc's and some slim lines, as well as bottle stoppers and whistle-key chains (what other lathe based kit's am I missing??).
I have a good feeling about this style though and I am going to focus on it and the cigars this year, with a few Gentlemens and jr. Gentlemen's thrown in.

I like the Patriot Pen kits

You did a nice job on your pens. I really like the second one with the maple bands. Gives me an idea what to do with a couple blanks I cut short the other day. I ordered the black Patriot Pen kits. The next time I am going to get the satin kits.

I cut the blanks twice and they are still too short in Longview, WA.
