Finishing Lacewood

>I will be working with some lacewood this weekend and am looking for a way to make the rays *POP*.
Do I need to do anything special?
Any experience or suggestions?

>This was finished by sanding to 12000 with Micro Mesh, given one coat of Watco Danish Oil and then sealed with Myland's Cellulose Sanding Sealer and buffed on polishing wheels.
