Behind the wood, in the top blue plastic bag is a cherry burl, which weighs 50-60lb

One day I noticed a guy logging not to far from my home. I stopped and started talking to him and found out the he was cherry picking the best trees for a saw mill. I noticed a pile of "drop offs" and asked if he would mind if I took a couple of chunks. "Take all you want", he says "we're just going to burn them!"

Now here's the kicker. There is this huge cherry crotch, way to Also, this pile of maple, white oak and cherry would fill up a few pick up trucks and all I have is a little mini van. Oh Well!

BTW, the Sycamore you gave me at Barn's BBQ is GORGEOUS! I made like the Plains Indians with a Buffalo and made use of every scrap I could. I ended up with some very beautiful bowl, and pen blanks.
