>I have recently bought a lathe capable of cutting large posts.I need some help in setting it up.I have never turned before.It has a duplicator. Please help.I need basic information on how to set it up.It is the nicest most intimidating piece of machinery I have ever owned.

Also, post what kind of lathe (if you know) and any other information you might have as to this lathe (model, brand, hp, spindle size, etc). If you don't have a manual, maybe one of us does or knows where to get one.

This forum and the many other online ones are a great help but there are just some things that require more than words on the screen. Likely, if there isn't someone that reads this forum from your area, then one of us that does, knows of someone that might help you setup your lathe. Many lathes are fairly easy to setup even by a novice but I suspect your lathe is a different thing.

By no means, try putting a 10 ft ANYTHING on there and start turning until you get a whole lot of experience and, preferably, some expert instruction. Be safe.
