Submerge Blanks?

I won't be able to rough turn them for about 2-3 weeks.
Is there any reason that I shouldn't just leave them submerged in the basement utility sink?
I would think that blanks that have been submerged for a while would be a breeze to turn, but is there a downside?
Thanks,
