Looking for Ideas

>I just finished turning a large (17") bowl from a white oak crotch. It's about 3/4", so it's still pretty heavy.
Here's the dilemma: I turned it outboard on my Nova (16"), and now I want to "reverse off" the foot. It's too big for my Cole Jaws (12"), and I can't fit it over the ways (so no tailstock either). I've turned a plywood disk to act as a large faceplate, but how can I attach it to here and reverse the foot off?
Ideas I've toyed with:
Duck tape it to the plywood. worried about glue residue and holding strength.
Just cutting off with handsaw and sanding flat (too easy, and too nice of a bowl to have flat bottom.)
Looking for some help guys.
Steve
