What kind of oil are you using? You could use Danish oil, You could apply multiple coats with a "Q-tip" to only the crack and simply allow the varnish to build up in it. You would still have a food safe finish. The Danish Oil should be able to be applied even if you have several coats of minerial oil on the piece, assuming minerial oil is what you are using.

You didn't say what kind of an "Oil Finish".

If it is a drying oil, you can fill a small crack with a thick mixture of sanding dust and whatever you used as a finish. Dig into the crack with a dental pick and remove as much of the finish as you can. Getting into bare wood is better. Use a utility knife if you have to.

You can also use medium CA glue and sanding dust in a small crack after it has been cleaned out, and adhesion shouldn't be a problem.

A larger crack can be filled with a mixture of epoxy and sanding dust. Again, getting to bare wood is ideal, and a roughened surface is the minimum.

If it is a non-drying oil such as Mineral Oil, do the same thing, but also use lacquer thinner to get ALL of the residual oil out of the crack. Make the repair before any of the oil in the surrounding wood has has a chance to bleed back again.

Use fresh coffee straight from the can. I use the all purpose grind in the cheapest brand on the shelf. There is no difference between decaff and the regular that I can tell.

There may be some merit in grinding the beans at the store to vary the size for different textures.

There may also be some merit in using a black or a very dark brown coffee for some things; but most of it will look the same after the CA glue has been used on it.

A medium CA can be mixed with the coffee, or a thin CA can be dropped onto the coffee. Either way, we have to be fast because the fresh coffee acts as a mild accelerator for a CA glue.

Coffee is a great filler!
