lathe suggestions

I'd like a machine that is accurately machined and well put together...tailstock riding snug on the ways and aligned perfectly with the headstock. I don't much care about length--I'm not gonna turn much in the way of chair legs, etc. although a few pens and tool handles are definately in the offing--but I do want as much clearance as I can get to turn bowls.
Any suggestions or comments, please?
