>Grabbed a little more time yesterday and turned this little toothpick holder. Made of mahogany, wiped with poly. About 2 3/4" inch high. Fun! Fun! Fun!!!

>Hi Don,

Mahagony, for whatever reason, is the toughest wood for me to turn and get a good finish. I've got a 2" bowl blank sitting on the shelf that I've been meaning to try and your nicely finished piece is just the inspiration I need to give it a go.

When I first started turning, I did a lot of mahogany because I had scraps of that. The tear out and end grain issues pretty much soured me on it. My skills have (I hope) improved since then, so I will give it another try.

Thanks for the pics, that looks really well done and fun!
