>Cool Keith. I got the card and drooled over the facilities. We only have Powermatics at the Appalachian center for crafts but the wood program is fabulous. They produce more funiture than turning but we are slowly taking over. We really need to spread the wood fever.

I just finished my first session there.....six students; we designed a segmented form, ( no computer) cut the segments, glued up rings, then the entire assembly, then turned five vessels. ( One person went home early due to illness, so did not finish his piece)

Not an easy task, considering the class was limited to two 6 hour days.

Jamie, let me know if you are interested, they are looking for good demonstrators!! They also provide a place to stay.

We have two new turning schools here in Maine now also,both running programs at different times of the year.The largest is the one at The Center for Furniture Craftsmanship in Rockport, Maine.Site is www.woodschool.org.Also with new One-Way lathes.Week long summer programs. Smaller one in Damariscotta, Maine. Runs during the winter months,at Round Top Center for the Arts. Classes during the day and also nights,only once a week at this one.Glad to see that these programs are thriving, good luck.....

>Thanks everyone!! Life is funny sometimes....I started focusing on my turning just to improve my cabinet-making skills. I had no idea it would lead to teaching and doing turning demos. It really is beyond anything I could have imagined.
