This is the apron I got for my wife to do stained glass work. She likes it, easy to put on, good protection and will hold the important stuff.

I use a canvas apron whenever I turn Padauk or Osage Orange. No problems. I would think you might be able to get a leather apron from Blacksmithing suppliers.
