Dunking Fininishes

>I've heard some talk about "dunking" your pieces for finishing. Has anybody had any experience with this? What finish do you use? is there a special "finish" formula for this? I'd like to try this, but would like more info first. Thanks.

Go to Ross' Corner, and look for his Fisnishing Secrets article. In it there is a section on Submersible Finishes. I have used it on Pine (various varieties), and it helps provide both a deep sheen, as well as a translucence. The way I have used it is by dunking it for a couple of hours, then pulling it out, letting it drip dry back into the solution, redunking it, etc., and continuing this process for as long as I feel it needs (at least about 20 time). I don't claim that this is the optimal method to use--others may have a better approach, but it seems to work for me.
