Please be aware that Glaser tools follow North American measure. A 3/8" Glaser bowl gouge is the same size as 1/4" Sorby bowl gouge.

Glaser tools are available from three sources that I know of (four if you count Jerry). Packard, The Cutting Edge and Woodcraft. To get the tools through Woodcraft you have to "special order" them, Woodcraft has part numbers for most Glaser tools.

The transition to Glaser tools is a slippery slope. First one tool and you wonder what all the fuss was about. But as the weeks and months go by you will find that you are using the Glaser more and more. At which point you will start looking at what your "second" Glaser will be.

At that point there is no hope. You will get a few more tools and be happy as a clam. Oops! you find out that Jerry is getting old and you wonder how much longer the Glaser tools will be made. Then you will "need" doubles of all the tools...

Well you get the idea.

I have started down that slippery slope myself. The handle takes a bit of getting used to, but the edge holding ability of the A11 steel has been truly remarkable as compared to HSS. That alone saves me time in production.
