Saki soaking

>A woodworking friend called yesterday and wanted to tell me about the latest trick. It seems JVC has been trying to make wooded cones for speakers. They always broke. Now they've discovered that Soaking the wood in Saki makes it resistant to the vibrations. Anyone heard of this. Sounds strange to me but you never know. I never would have thought to soak wood in dishwashing liquid either.

Or, someone's sitting out there laughing and buying stock in saki companies.

>Soaking wood in alcohol would remove some water from the wood, but I'm not convinced sake has a high enough alcohol content to have much effect. 150-proof rum would be strong enough but denatured alcohol would be even better and considerably cheaper.
