Turning Chickens

>Hey, I'm not calling anyone an insulting name here -- I want some ideas on how to turn a wooden chicken ! I have some ideas about 3 hollow forms that could be combined to form the body, neck and head, and I suppose a thin-walled vase could be cut up to create a few tail feathers, and maybe a few wings ...

Anyone have some creative, artistic & fun suggestions on turning a chicken ?

You see Ruth has no chickens now, and I just thought a few of us could ..... well, have some fun with this idea !
