>Sophie's name spelled wrong? I didn't take any Buck Brothers tools home with me. The only rock I saw was the piece of yew you thought you could turn. Yew is just under the hardness of high stress concrete. The rhody goblet was a nice piece. The Misses should be proud to have it. I thoroughly enjoy helping anyone I can. It is just hard to find people who don't know as much about turning as I do.

After I got over a case of sleep deprivation, I decided to do some turning today. I finished an apple hollow form made from a whole log. I had to change the bottom shape because the inside bottom was where the outside bottom was going to be. I hate it when that happens. I plan to do a lacquer finish on this one.

I coined that phrase shortly after I started turning. My wife asked me why a finished piece didn't look like the work in progress I showed her. My response was that in wood working form follows function but in turning from follows catches.

I don't get catches as often as I used to. More often I turn the inside bottom deeper than the outside bottom.
